It's exciting to see another client attain some valuable high-end publicity, using my commercial photography services.
Simply Free Range, featured in this week's Melbourne Age Epicure section is a family-run primary food producer at Koallah Farm, in south west Victoria. I've been fortunate to photograph a few times now with the Castle family, who know a thing or two about free range farming, having worked on the land for more than a century.
When I visited Koallah Farm a couple of weeks ago, I needed to emphasise Simply Free Range's expansive and natural farming practices and the linkage between paddock and plate.
Two things became apparent pretty quickly: firstly, my thermals, two jackets and beanie weren't nearly enough to buffer the cold conditions, and secondly, it was a smart play to let the working farm operate around me to best match its natural free-range production with its beautiful surrounds.
I don't often work alongside cattle and a larger than life Maremma dog as a professional photographer in Geelong and Melbourne, so I jump at opportunities to provide value-add commercial photography services for clients that work in pretty interesting surrounds to help promote their business to target markets.
Despite the cold, I'm really pleased with the end results of my most recent commercial photography work at Koallah and the deserved publicity Simply Free Range has scooped.
