Harness Racing Victoria

Advertising Campaign BTS

Harness Racing Victoria is gearing up for another stylish 'Girls Night Out' ahead of the prestigious 'Breeders Crown' later this year. I got a chance to work with some very talented jockeys at their most recent Crown advertising campaign shoot.

HRV scouted a location befitting the 'regal' brief, at Melbourne's Labassa Victorian era mansion. It's tucked in a North Caulfield cul-de-sac and has served as a backdrop for multiple advertising photography campaigns and television productions.

My brief was to communicate the regality of the Breeders Crown meeting, targeting the racing industry and patrons, for online and billboard marketing. As with most (all) commissions I really enjoyed a pre-shoot site visit to gain a first hand experience of the location (its lighting and key features) and a greater appreciation of what my client's waned to achieve with the campaign.

A mansion the size of Labassa offers all kinds of money cant buy set props and throws up the challenge of excluding possible locations to more accurately meet the brief and work within a limited time-frame. We settled on three key rooms and delivered a really creative campaign.
